Good morning and Happy New Year!

We did it, Joe! We made it through another year.

Give yourself a round of applause. Itโ€™s not been an easy year (or 6 years depending on how you look at it), but we are still here. We are still alive.

But I asked myself many times in 2021 if we are truly living?

The pandemic made known what was lying beneath the surface. America is drifting and paralyzed in the face of existential threats from the climate crisis, rising authoritarianism, and deep inequality. Knurdology covered many of these stories last year:

Our current world can feel overwhelming. And many of us are languishing through our lives.

Languishing is no way to live your one wild and precious life!

Which is why Thursdays Thoughts is transforming like a monarch butterfly!

Building Community & Change

Starting next week, we will be offering monthly series on topics that are affecting our world and societies.

Each newsletter will be a brief (who doesnโ€™t love that?!) exploration of a subject within a larger topic, how it is impacting us, and what we can do about it.

Every week, we will end with thoughtful questions and suggestions for small changes in your lives and local communities. You can even participate together by commenting on your thoughts in the comment section.

A Trickle Can Lead to a Waterfall

Why small change, you ask?

Thereโ€™s much that needs fixing in our world and while I want to see change on a large scale, we can only control our own fate. But the really cool part about making change in your life is how massive that change can be with enough people.

Did you know that if only 3.5% of a population participated in sustained, nonviolent protest, change is possible nearly every time? Thatโ€™s according to research from protests since 1900 by Harvard professor, Erica Chenoweth.

Each of us has the power to make real change and build a better society! Wonโ€™t you join us on this journey?

Letโ€™s Get Started!

Iโ€™m ready to live life to the fullest, breathe into spaces where I am truly seen, and participate in a movement to build a more just and equitable society for all.

Itโ€™s good for the soul and good for society.

This is a journey for all of us. I am so grateful for all of our subscribers over the past year and want to hear from you.

  • What issues are present in your life now?
  • What kind of topics do you want covered this year?
  • Who else would find this newsletter valuable?

Comment, reply, or share this email. We can build a strong community together.

See you next week :)

Last note! For the time being, this newsletter will remain completely free and accessible to all. As we grow, we plan to open up premium content and opportunities to connect with the community.

In order to make this newsletter accessible and help fund our effort, I am asking you to subscribe for a small $5/month. More support means greater resources for the whole community. Thank you!
