๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿผ Hi y'all,

On January 6, 2021, I was isolated in the New Mexican mountains with my trusty steed (aka my corgi, Bear). I watched in shocked horror and awe as the literal walls of Democracy were breached just mere hours after a Black and a Jewish man respectively won their Senate seats in Georgia. This is the roots of change agency's origin story.

The whiplash was stark. I was equally relieved at the electoral victory, but fearful of the clear flaws within the Democratic Party that allowed a narrow victory in the face of overt fascism. Unfortunately, these flaws have only continued to rust and decay since then. My first newsletters on Substack were about the failures of Democrat's to build a future-forward vision and their inability to communicate change and thus support the public through it.

This is not โ€œa once-in-a-century storm.โ€ This is the new normal and itโ€™s time our elected officials start acting like it.

As Sam Cooke aptly called, change is a comin' no matter what people in leadership say. And that's what we're here for.

A Lily Pad for Your Activism

My goal with the roots of change agency is to be a supportive landing space amidst the raging waters of our current media, tech, and political worlds. Regressive forces enjoy sowing chaos to distract us, but with a mix of strategic planning and flexible, imaginative thinking, we can move our world forward through messaging.

In 2025, it is my intention to expand the work that I started in 2020 and be more vocal about how we can cultivate change. We will have the resources, events, podcasts, and more to support folks navigate this uncertain time.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Our inaugural podcast is a preview for what's to come and a retelling of our Hollywood series with sound effects ๐Ÿ’ฅ for immersive storytelling.

My vision for the roots of change agencyโ€™s umbrella of services is to support activists, movement leaders, and social change communicators to speak up for liberatory change, while protecting our collective wellbeing. But I can only do this with collective support! Consider becoming a paid member today (current members may re-up their membership early and use the discount).

In Solidarity,
