To Go Live or Go Human?

This week's podcast is a YouTube Live session I hosted with collaborator, Taryn Talley, to kickoff strategic communications and address what the actually hell communicators can do to organize and build engagement with real humans in this moment.

But if I'm being honest, I don't always feel human on YouTube Live. There’s a false performative aspect that YouTube’s algorithm encourages. But that’s the opposite of my vibe.

In contrast, I facilitated a small (but mighty) group of activists in my 1st deep canvassing trainings with the SF Chapter of the Working Families Party. The experiences could not have been more different and that’s a clear lesson I’m taking away in terms of communications for our movements and organizations in this moment.
