๐ Indigenous Queer History & Gender Joy with Honey Mahogany
In Conversation with Honey Mahogany
Hi Yโall! ๐๐ฝ
๐ฅณ Happy Pride Month! ๐ณ๏ธโ๐ We kick off my second favorite month with a coffee shop chat with Honey Mahogany. We spoke at Mercury Cafe on the unceded lands of the Ramaytush Ohlone people to reflect on Indigenous queer history, the root of the right's gender hysteria, what we can learn from Indigenous queer cultures, and how Honey uses gender joy to stay resilient amidst today's anti-trans backlash.
It was a joy to go deep into Indigenous queer culture from around the globe with Honey. I hope you enjoy our conversation and look out for tomorrow's newsletter where we kick off our Pride month series which will expand on the topic of Indigenous queer culture!
We respectfully acknowledge that the Roots of Change Agency lives and grows on the unceded lands of the Ramaytush Ohlone people. We donate a portion of our monthly revenue to support the present-day effort to rematriate the land. Learn more and how to donate on our website.
